My neighbor's one comment about my paint job changed my whole approach
I was painting my hallway in Portland and my neighbor walked by, saw my roller strokes, and just said 'you really should backroll that last coat.' I thought I was doing fine, took me about 4 hours to do the whole thing. Turns out I was leaving these subtle lines that only show in certain light. I went back over it with a dry roller, took another 90 minutes, and the difference was night and day. Now I backroll every single coat, even on ceilings. Has anyone else had a neighbor point out something that basic that you'd been missing for years?
