Painted my living room with a brush vs a roller and the difference was huge
Honestly, I always thought a brush was fine for everything. I painted my whole bedroom with just a brush last year and it took forever and looked okay. Then my neighbor loaned me his 18 inch roller setup for the living room job. Ngl, I finished the main walls in like 45 minutes compared to the 4 hours it took with a brush before. The texture was way smoother too, no brush marks at all. I did still use a brush for the corners and trim obviously. But for the big flat walls, that roller saved my weekend and the paint looks professionally done. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big time savings?

Man @xenar14 that's a good point about doing it backwards and learning that way too. 9 inch rollers are still way better than a brush for sure though. It's crazy how we think we know what works until we actually try the right tool for the job. I wasted a whole weekend on my bedroom with a brush just because I didn't know any better. The time difference is what got me, finishing in under an hour vs dragging it out all day. Makes me want to repaint the bedroom now with a roller just to see how much better it could look.

Yeah I saw this guy on YouTube talk about how rollers basically do the work for you and I didn't believe it until I tried it. I did the opposite of you actually, I used a roller first and then tried a brush on a small accent wall and man what a mistake. The brush took forever and left these weird lines everywhere that I had to go over again. The 18 inch roller sounds crazy big though, I used a 9 inch one and it still cut my time in half easy.
