Shoutout to the guy at Home Depot who laughed at my PVC pipe list
I walked in with a detailed plan for a custom sprinkler system and the old timer in plumbing took one look, laughed, and handed me a different size pipe saying 'your yard's gonna flood with those.' He was right - saved me $40 and a weekend of digging up soggy grass. Has anyone else had a random employee totally save their project?

real talk, the plumbing section is full of hidden geniuses who've seen every dumb mistake imaginable. that guy probably saved you from a whole lot more than just soggy grass too, like a massive water bill or busted pipes. i've had a few employees steer me wrong before but the good ones are worth their weight in gold. honestly, the humble ones who laugh at your plans are usually the ones who know exactly what they're talking about. trust the laugh.

Oh come on, @kevin_bailey, I've had the exact opposite experience with those "laughing" employees. Half the time they're just laughing because they have no clue what they're talking about and are hoping you'll walk away. I once had a guy at a big box store laugh at my plans for a simple sink swap, then try to sell me three parts that didn't even fit my pipes. Trust your own research over someone who's just trying to get you to buy the expensive stuff on their shelf.
