Switching to spray foam vs. staying with fiberglass in my attic - what worked for you?
I'm working on finishing my attic in Raleigh next month and I'm stuck between spray foam and fiberglass batts. My buddy who does commercial insulation swears spray foam is the only way to go because it seals gaps better and adds R-value per inch. But my uncle did his whole house with fiberglass for $800 and says the foam is overkill for a dry climate like ours. I've read that spray foam can trap moisture if not done right, but fiberglass lets drafts sneak through. Has anyone here made the switch from one to the other and regretted it?

Man that's a tough spot to be in, I've been there with my own house and it's a headache to decide. Spray foam is amazing for sealing things up tight but I've seen horror stories online about moisture getting trapped behind it. Fiberglass might be cheaper but you'll probably feel those drafts every time the wind kicks up.

@the_skyler did you ever figure out if spray foam caused any real damage in your place?
