Unpopular opinion: pre-made drywall mud is way better than mixing your own powder
I spent 3 hours last weekend mixing up a bag of powder for a small patch job (you know, never again). The pre-mixed stuff from the bucket went on smooth and I didn't have to deal with lumps or guessing the right consistency. Has anyone else just given up on the powder stuff for good?

Switched to premix years ago and never looked back. Way less hassle for small jobs.

You said "way less hassle for small jobs" and I get that, but what do you consider a small job though? I mean, I've been burned by premix going bad in the tube before I could use it all up, especially if it's something that only comes out once a year. Does that ever happen to you or do you just power through and use it up for other things? idk, maybe I'm just buying the wrong brand or something, but I feel like I waste more money with premix sometimes. It's not like I'm doing huge projects, just the occasional crack or trim repair.
