Went with pine shelves instead of oak for my pantry, zero regrets

Ngl, I kept going back and forth for two weeks on solid oak vs. pine from the lumber yard in Tacoma, saved about $80 total and figured I could always paint them later. The pine took stain way better than I expected and honestly the softer wood was easier to cut around the outlet boxes. Anyone else pick the cheaper option and end up happy, or did you have to redo it down the road?
