Cleaning my vape with a 3-step soak made the flavor way better

I used to just wipe down my Mighty cooling unit with iso wipes but it never got fully clean. Last month I started doing a quick iso soak for 20 mins then a rinse in hot water and let it dry. The first hit after that was night and day compared to before. I noticed the vapor tasted almost sweet instead of that burnt popcorn thing. Has anyone else tried a longer soak vs just wiping? I'm curious if different soak times make a difference on other devices.

Wait, you were just wiping it down with iso wipes before? That barely gets the surface gunk, man, the real buildup is stuck in all the little nooks and crannies. I've got an old Da Buddha that I never deep cleaned until last month and I swear the first hit after a proper iso soak was like a completely different vape. I think the burnt popcorn taste is just residue that's been baked on too long, a quick wipe can't touch that. A 20 minute soak sounds like the sweet spot for me too, but I bet anything past an hour is just overkill and wastes iso. You definitely unlocked the secret, that first clean hit after a good soak is borderline euphoric.

Wait have you tried using a little pipe cleaner or even a bent paperclip after the iso soak? I did that on my EQ stem last week and the gunk just slid right off, no scraping needed. A 20 minute soak in warm iso (like, microwave it for 10 seconds careful not to boil it) loosens everything up way better than cold. My rule of thumb is if I can see through the glass when holding it up to the light, I'm good to go. That first hit after a deep clean is almost too clean if that makes sense, like you taste the actual herb instead of old crust.

Got my dad's old soldering iron one time and spent an hour scraping crust off my Arizer stem with a paperclip before I realized soaking it would have been way easier. That burnt popcorn taste haunts me, man, your soak method sounds way smarter than my caveman approach.
