I was puffing away on my Arizer Solo 2 at 410F like I always did, thinking I was getting great flavor. My friend hit it once and said it tasted like burnt popcorn and asked if I ever cleaned the stem. I got defensive at first because I would wipe the bowl out after every session. But he showed me the reclaim buildup inside the glass stem that I never even thought about. So I started doing a full ISO soak on the stem every week and dropped my temp down to 380F. The difference in taste is night and day, I can actually pick out the citrus notes in my Lemon Haze now. Has anyone else been missing good flavor just because of a dirty stem?
The Solo 2 tastes way better session after session but the Mighty hits harder through water hands down. Anyone else find the glass stem cleaning on the Solo 2 drives them crazy compared to the Mighty's cooling unit?
My buddy at the Denver vape shop showed me how a plastic coffee stirrer fits perfectly to scrape out the cooling unit without damaging anything. Have you found any random household items that work better than the official cleaning tools?
I used to think the finer the grind, the better the vapor production. Everyone on here swears by a super fine grind for maximum surface area. But I tried it for months and kept getting these super tight draws and uneven heating, especially with my Arizer Solo 2. Last weekend I got lazy and just gave the herb a coarse tear with my fingers because my grinder was dirty. The airflow was way better and the flavor lasted twice as long through the session. Turns out a medium to coarse grind works better for convection vapes like mine. Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one who went against the fine grind gospel?
I bought a $60 dry herb vape off Amazon back in March. It worked okay for the first week but then the chamber got uneven and the hits tasted like burnt popcorn. I was getting great flavor for the first 2 hits then it tasted like burnt popcorn for the rest of the bowl. Tried packing looser and grinding finer but nothing helped. Finally I just started at 360F for 3-4 hits then bumped to 385F for the rest. Now I get good taste all the way through instead of that nasty charred flavor. I used to always crank my vape to like 410F because I thought higher temp meant bigger clouds and that was the point. But a buddy of mine who grows his own stuff sat me down last week and made me try his Mighty at 365F with some Blue Dream.
