Tried vaping flower at 445F and got a lungful of something I can't explain
I bumped my Mighty up to max temp to test a new batch and ended up coughing for 10 minutes straight with a weird burnt popcorn taste that lingered for hours. Has anybody else had a bad reaction to pushing past 410F on a specific strain?

It reminds me of how people always crank up the heat to get the last bit out of something, whether it's a pan on the stove or a cartridge, and end up with a mess. That burnt popcorn taste is your signal that you've pushed past the sweet spot where all the good stuff is gone and you're just charring plant material. A lot of strains have different boiling points for their terpenes, so one might be smooth at 445 and another turns harsh because it's burning off all the flavor compounds. Have you noticed a specific terpene profile that seems to cause that reaction, or is it just random?

Stick with strains higher in myrcene and caryophyllene if you're pushing higher temps, they seem to hold up better without that burnt popcorn taste kicking in too early. I learned the hard way that limonene-heavy stuff gets harsh fast past 410, so I just keep the dial lower for those.
