I was dead wrong about weekly all-hands meetings

Thought they were a total waste of time. Like 45 minutes of people rambling about updates that could be an email. Then our COO at a 300-person firm in Austin started doing these tight 15-minute standups every Monday morning. Focused on one metric, one win, one blocker. People actually started talking to each other between departments. The silos broke down in like 2 months. Has anyone else seen a meeting format flip their team's dynamic like that?

I mean maybe the real trick is that short meetings force people to actually prepare instead of just showing up to vibe check the room.

Same reason gas station coffee tastes better in a small cup.
