I thought the 'secret menu' at that new taco spot was just a hype thing
A buddy told me to ask for the 'al pastor estilo DF' at the place on 3rd Street, which isn't listed. I was sure they'd just give me the regular al pastor. I tried it last Friday and it came with grilled pineapple and a different salsa, way better. It's a real thing they make if you know to ask. Has anyone else found a good off-menu item around town?

Come on, it's just a taco. I mean, it's cool you got some pineapple and a different sauce, but it's not like you found a hidden treasure map. Places do this stuff to feel special. The burger spot near me has a "secret" sauce they'll add if you ask, and it's literally just mayo with a little chipotle mixed in. It's fine, but it's not life changing. Maybe it's just me, but getting all excited over an off-menu item feels like buying into their marketing.

Honestly that sounds awesome. What exactly was different about the salsa they gave you with that order? Was it more of a red or a green one?
