My accountant told me to raise my rates by 20% last quarter

Honestly, I was scared I'd lose my regular clients, but I only had one person leave and my income went up a lot. Ngl, I wish I'd done it sooner instead of just taking whatever work came my way. Has anyone else had a specific piece of advice that felt risky but paid off big?

Gotta wonder though if raising prices that much actually makes people think you're worth more or if they just start looking harder for someone cheaper. The psychology behind it is weird.

How much did you actually raise them? I'm thinking of doing the same but 20% seems huge.
