TIL a dentist visit gave me a new freelance client

I was at the dentist for a cleaning recently, just sitting in the waiting area. Another patient came in, and we started talking about how long the wait was. I mentioned I do freelance graphic design on the side, mostly for small businesses. He got excited and said he just opened a cafe and needed a logo done. It was funny because I was just making small talk to pass the time. We exchanged email addresses right there in the office. He reached out the following week, and now I have a paid project. This small win made my day and reminded me that work can come from anywhere.

Scored a freelance job while waiting for a train.

Nice! That's the best kind of luck, @umab35. I once landed a client just chatting in a coffee shop line. Those random moments really do pay off sometimes.

Used to think networking had to be this planned thing at events or online. Hearing stories like yours totally changed my mind. It's cool how just talking to people in normal places can lead somewhere real. Makes me want to chat more and worry less about making it a big deal.
